Insurance Reinstatement

Given our large database of building costs, MGM Partnership is pre-eminently placed to prepare insurance reinstatement valuations for buildings of all types and complexities.

We prepare realistic, up to date reinstatement costs which are based upon current market conditions and prices.

This ensures that our Client’s are not paying excessive premiums whilst maintaining their appropriate levels of cover.

Capital Allowance Calculators

MGM Partnership can calculate your capital allowances on your expenditure relating to your particular building. This allows you, as a Client, to deduct a portion of these costs from your taxable profits and accordingly reduce your tax bill.

We have provided this service for several clients including some of the leading accountancy practices.

Contractual Claims

On projects where we have not been involved as a Design Team member, MGM Partnership can provide an in-depth analysis of any construction related claims for any third party.

This can include assessment of works completed, assessment of final accounts, assessment of costs associated with remedying defects, evaluation of contractual claims, evaluation of extension of time claims and loss of profit and all associated contractual claims.

With our extensive knowledge of standard and bespoke contract conditions we can advise on all aspects of contractual claims and defend same for the relevant party.

Similarly we have frequently prepared such claims for contracting parties where such disputes have arisen.

MGM Partnership has been through various forms of dispute resolution forums both presenting and defending such claims for various clients.

Expert Witness

We offer an expert witness service in relation to contractual / legal disputes where we carry out a detailed analysis of all contractual documentation, review the financial status of the issues which we were requested to investigate and report on our findings.

This expert witness service we provide generally relates to construction projects and disputes which may arise and we have been involved in numerous mediations, conciliations and arbitrations.

We have successfully provided expert witness on many projects to date and are involved in a number of expert witness cases at present.

On projects where we have not been involved as a Design Team member, MGM Partnership can provide an in-depth analysis of any construction related claims for any third party.

Insolvency Advice

From experience gained on insolvency projects since 1998, MGM Partnership has a clear understanding of the requirements of the insolvency practitioner on any construction related insolvency. We provide in a clear, user-friendly manner:

  • Valuation of WIP, including, where necessary, physical site measure of works complete
  • Prompt analysis of the merits of pursuing, for example, retention monies due to the company
  • Costs and associated programme for completion of outstanding works which may release further value
  • Project management of completion of works, snagging to facilitate release of retention etc.
  • Analysis of the financial merits of pursuing contractual claims or final accounts on individual projects
  • Health & Safety Audits of partially completed sites
  • Project managing planning issues for the insolvency practitioner – e.g., securing extensions of planning
  • Agreeing Site Resolution Plans with the Local Authority for completion of partially completed developments.

As we have worked on in excess of 200 insolvency cases, MGM Partnership has the expertise, experience and resources to provide any insolvency practitioner or financial institution with a comprehensive service.

Feasibility Studies

At the initial feasibility stage of a development MGM Partnership advise on broad cost implications such as site suitability, building position on site and economic design solutions.

An agreed budget can then be established based on the preliminary design information available and this budget becomes the benchmark for the project as the design develops.

We also frequently review anticipated revenues for the development in conjunction with relevant personnel to assess the overall feasibility. In carrying out this initial feasibility study the viability of the development can be established with a minimal outlay from the Client.

MGM Partnership’s expertise in risk management and construction legal matters is a value added service which bring to due diligence and project monitoring.
